Twenty eight (28) newly issued passports were received by the Embassy on 13 August 2026. For their reference numbers, please visit https://www.emb-bucharest.gov.lk/en/notices. Holders can collect their passports from the Consular Section of the Embassy on working days from 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm.
Application For A Police Clearance Certificate From Sri Lanka
Those who wish to apply for a Sri Lankan Police Clearance Certificate can submit their applications either in person or send by post. Those who send the applications by post should enclose a postal order or a bank draft for the value of £16/- in favour of “ Sri Lanka High Commission – London”, along with a letter stating the reason for requesting the Police Clearance Certificate and a self-addressed stamped envelope to dispatch the Police Clearance Certificate, unless they wish to personally collect it.
If applications are submitted in person, the fee of £16/- can be paid by Debit/Credit card.*Other applicable charges will apply
The following documents should be submitted with the applications:
Copy of the Sri Lankan Passport and the National Identity Card issued by the Department of Registration of Persons, for applicants who are Sri Lankans/Dual Citizens.
Copy of the foreign passport, for applicants who are not Sri Lankans/Dual Citizens.

On submission of the application, it will be forwarded to the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration) of the Police Headquarters, Colombo 01, Sri Lanka who would issue the Certificate of Clearance after verifying the details of the applicant from the respective Police Stations.
Upon receipt of the Police Clearance Certificate, it will be dispatched to the applicant by post or it can be collected from the Consular Division of the High Commission.
